Welcome to The Arts Society Tyneside (Tyneside Decorative & Fine Arts Society) charity number 1017704. We promote the enjoyment and conservation of our artistic and cultural heritage by providing regular lectures, occasional study days and visits, and voluntary activities including Heritage Volunteering and the support of Arts Volunteering.
Everything you may wish to know about the Society should be available here, but if you require further information, please feel free to email us at tas.tyneside@gmail.com or contact the Membership Secretary, Jane Young, on 0191 285 4671.
Lectures and Study Days
The Society organises ten monthly lectures each year, starting in September and continuing until the following June. The lectures are held at the Trinity Centre, High Street, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 4AG. The current subscription rate for a year’s membership is £70. For non-members, or for occasional visitors who may wish to attend a lecture, we ask for a donation of £10 per lecture. Lectures begin at 7.30pm, although you are invited to come earlier to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine (provided by Trinity volunteers), and to socialise before the lecture starts.
The Society also organises occasional study days and visits to places of interest depending on members’ interests.
Lectures from The Arts Society
In addition to our own series of lectures by The Arts Society accredited lecturers, there are online talks which can be accessed here.

Other lectures are available from ARTscapades. The ticket price for each event or course session is £10, with net proceeds supporting museums and galleries. All events take place via Zoom, and can be watched live or on-demand for three weeks afterwards. Click here for further details.
